RefugeRefuge
The Spiritual Foundation of Freedom and Joy

with guest teacher Gen Lingpur, Resident teacher of KMC Arizona

When: Saturday, June 4 at 10am – 2pm

Cost $25 or 2/40

We know from experience that the everyday things of this world – our jobs, relationships, possessions, status, etc. – cannot supply us with real security or happiness. All of these things are fleeting. Finally, they vanish altogether. Establishing inner refuge in our mind and heart is the foundation for experiencing freedom and joy here and now….and on into the future.

In this course guest teacher Gen Lingpur will explain the deeply enriching practice of going for refuge to Buddha, Dharma and Sangha and how by learning to rely on them we connect with our pure nature. She will also show how to integrate this practice into our daily lives. In this way we find protection from suffering, lay the foundation for happiness, and open the door to future enlightenment.

Gen Kelsang Lingpur is an American Buddhist nun and the resident teacher of KMC Arizona.  She has been a disciple of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for over 15 years, and former administrative director of Vajrarupini Center, now known as KMC San Diego. With a down-to-earth style, she helps us to look at our situation in a new light, and to transform negative minds into positive ones.

This course will include, for those who wish, a beautiful and blessed refuge ceremony whereby we formally take refuge in Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Everyone welcome.
