More Information On Data Trackers:

Cookies are small text files stored by your web browser when you use websites. You can control how websites use cookies by configuring your browser’s privacy settings (please refer to your browser’s help function to learn more about cookie controls). Note that if you disable cookies entirely, our website may not function properly. We use cookies in several ways, such as measuring your use of our website so that we can improve them and tailor our websites to your interests. This allows us to customize website content and provide better services. For more information on our use of cookies, please see our Cookie Policy.

Web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels”, “transparent GIFs”, “clear GIFs”, “pixel gifs”, or “pixel tags”) are tiny, invisible images that allow us to track activities on our website and on emails we send. We receive tracking pixel data primarily through offer pages published by our advertisers. Tracking pixels help us figure out if certain features, notifications, and products or services are effective and if they can be improved.

We may also undertake profiling or automated individual decision-making to carry out our services. Automated individual decision-making refers to a decision made solely on the basis of automated processing of your personal data, without human involvement.  For instance, we may process personal information using an algorithm or a software code. Profiling is automated processing of personal data to evaluate certain information collected about an individual. We conduct profiling and automated decision-making to better understand your interests and preferences and to adapt our communications to your user profile. You can address any questions or concerns about this practice by contacting us.

Do we share your personal information?

Kadampa Meditation Center San Diego shares the information that you provide us and that we collect from you with third parties whose products or services are related to our website content. For example, we disclose some of this data to companies involved in ad delivery. Likewise, we disclose some of this data in order to provide or help site audience measurement, traffic analysis, or demographic analysis, and to enable websites to provide their advertisers with audience segments that are appropriate for their products or services.

We may also share the information we collect,

  • When you agree to the sharing,
  • When we are required to provide information in response to a subpoena, court order, or other applicable law or legal process,
  • If we reasonably believe that use or disclosure of information is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of others, as required or permitted by law, or
  • If the ownership of all or substantially all of our business changes, or we undertake a corporate reorganization (including, but not limited to, a merger or consolidation), or a potential sale of some or all of our business or assets, or there is an event of insolvency, bankruptcy, receivership or pledging of assets, or there is any other action or transfer between or among Kadampa Meditation Center San Diego and its affiliates. Collected information may be transferred along with the change in ownership or structure but the information will be treated in the same manner described here.

Is my personal information secure?

We understand that the security of your personal information is important. We have reasonable and appropriate administrative, technical, and physical security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site. This may include encryption, “firewalls” and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). However, “perfect security” does not exist on the Internet and we cannot guarantee the security of any information transmitted by our website.

Where do you store my personal information?

To the extent that we maintain your personal information, it is stored on Kadampa Meditation Center San Diego servers and the servers of companies we hire to provide services to us. Note, however, that the personal information you provide is shared with service providers who provide the services you have requested, and for which you have provided your “Contact Details.”

How long will you keep my personal information?

We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to carry out our legitimate business purposes and as needed to comply with our legal obligations and enforce our agreements. Where we process personal information for marketing purposes or with your consent, we process the information until you ask us to stop and for a short period after this (to allow us to carry out your request). We will keep a permanent record of any request you make to no longer send you direct marketing or no longer process information so that we can respect that request in the future.

What rights do I have to the personal information that you collect?

Under the law of some countries, you have the right to:

  • Obtain a copy of the personal information that you provide us and that we maintain
  • Correct, update or delete that personal information that we no longer have business reasons for retaining
  • Restrict processing while we review any concerns you may have over the accuracy of the personal information we maintain
  • Object to our data processing in certain circumstances, such as,

  • Obtain a copy of the personal information that you provided us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and/or to share (port) this information to another provider

These rights may be limited, for example, if fulfilling your request would reveal personal information about another person, or if you ask us to delete information which we are required by law to keep or we have compelling legitimate interests to keep (such as for fraud prevention).
