Let’s bring in the new year together in the most positive way, with meditation for world peace and prayers to the Buddha of compassion, Avalokiteshvara.

Our celebration begins with an inspiring talk from Gen Kelsang Lhadron, to gather our energy and set our intention for the coming year. What is most important to us? What light is guiding us, and where are we headed?

After Gen Lhadron’s talk, we’ll engage in beautiful chanted prayers and guided meditation and welcome the new year with our Sangha friends.

About the Teacher
Gen Kelsang Lhadron is an American Buddhist nun who has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism for 15 years and is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center San Diego. Gen Lhadron’s sincere teachings are presented with humor and practical examples that make them accessible to everyone. Through her kindness and enthusiasm for meditation practice, she provides an inspiring example of a modern Buddhist practitioner for our society.
