Join SoCal Resident Teachers Kadam Gerry Donovan, Gen Kelsang Tsoglam, and Kadam Amy Peng for a powerful and uplifting retreat at the beautiful International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon.

The Five Forces are Buddha’s essential teachings on how to integrate Dharma into our daily life. In this retreat, we will understand how to use these forces to transform our experience into the spiritual path. When we become familiar with using them, we can easily fulfill our wish to live happier and more purposeful life.

Retreat Details

Pricing and Accommodations

Packages include the retreat fee, three nights of onsite accommodations, and eight meals. ADA rooms and pet friendly rooms are available and can be requested in the notes section at checkout.

Local residents and those staying offsite can register for the retreat with no accommodations for $150 or join us for the day on Saturday or Sunday for $50/day.

Single Room Package | $545
Includes retreat fee and meals for one person and a private room for one with either a king bed or two beds and ensuite bathroom.

Double Room Package | $775
Includes retreat fees and meals for two people and one private room for two with either a king bed or two beds and ensuite bathroom. Please include the name of the second person in the notes section at checkout. A king bed can be requested via the notes section.

Shared Room Package | $410
Includes retreat fee and meals for one person. Accommodations are in a shared room (2-3 people) with three twin beds and an ensuite bathroom. Roommates will be assigned. To share with a friend, let us know in the notes section at checkout.

Dorm Room Package | $320
Includes retreat fee and meals for one person. Accommodations are in a shared dorm room (up to 6 people) with bunk beds and an ensuite bathroom. Sheets and pillows are provided; guests must bring a towel and a blanket or sleeping bag, or purchase the optional bedding package for $5.

Meals

All meals are vegetarian and cooked in-house. Vegan and wheat-free options are available. Please notify us if you suffer from a severe allergy (e.g. nut allergy).

Eight meals are included with overnight accommodation packages: dinner on Friday; breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday and Sunday; and breakfast on Monday. Day visitors can purchase meal packages at checkout. Snacks can also be purchased at the cafe.

The International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon (IKRC) is located at 6701 East Mountain Ranch Road, Williams, AZ 86046.

 

 

Retreat Schedule

The first session on Friday will begin at 7:30pm and the last session on Monday will end around noon. The full schedule will be posted soon!

 


Retreat Teachers

Gen Kelsang Tsoglam, Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center San Diego. Gen Tsoglam has been practicing and teaching Kadampa Buddhism for over 20 years. Her teachings are heartfelt, practical, and infused with warmth and humor, making Dharma deeply accessible and inspiring.

 

Kadam Gerry Donovan, Resident Teacher of Mahamudra Kadampa Meditation Center. Kadam Gerry has been practicing under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche since 2006. He has personally felt the great benefit of dharma practice in his own life and gives accessible teachings in a lighthearted way.

Kadam Amy Peng, Resident Teacher of Vajrayogini KBC. Over the past 15 years, Kadam Amy has taught at Kadampa centers in Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Monica & Palm Springs. With warmth and sincerity, Kadam Amy shows the joy of integrating Buddha’s teachings into daily life and is an inspiring example of modern Kadampa Buddhist practitioner.
