Mount Hope Cemetery
Free Event

As Halloween approaches we invite you to look beyond costumes and candy and take part in a contemplative journey at beautiful Mount Hope Cemetery. Among the headstones we find a wisdom perspective that helps us live our best life. This guided cemetery walk offers a chance to reflect on the meaning of life and death from a Buddhist perspective. Led by resident teacher Gen Lhadron.

Please bring something to sit on - lawn chair, towel, blanket, etc. Meetup location details below. If you need to contact us the morning of the event, please call/text 862-268-2250.

"Buddha said that just as among all animals an elephant leaves the deepest footprint so too, of all meditations, meditation on death leaves the deepest impression on the mind."
- Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

GPS tips

You can only enter the cemetery from Market Street. You cannot enter from Imperial Ave even if your GPS says you can.

The cemetery streets are not correctly labeled in Google Maps.

Meetup GPS coordinates: 32.70732064959416, -117.10985623737106. To have your GPS correctly guide you to the cemetery entrance, first have it take you to 3751 Market St, and add the meetup coordinates as your second destination. This prevents the GPS from taking you to Imperial Ave.
