Fri, Aug 22 & Sat, Aug 23

We’ve all felt the pain of heartbreak and disappointment and may believe these outcomes are inevitable when we love someone. But what if the source of problems in relationships isn’t love itself…but our misunderstanding of it?

In his talk on Friday, Gen-la Jampa will explain why it is difficult to distinguish between love and attachment, and give us practical methods taught by Buddha that can purify our love for others. Then on Saturday, Gen-la will lead a three-session retreat that will more deeply explore this radically different understanding of love and give participants the opportunity to contemplate and meditate on these meaningful topics.

Registration Costs:
Friday night talk: $15
Saturday retreat: $45

About the Teacher

Gen-la Jampa is an internationally renowned, ordained Buddhist teacher and the Deputy Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU).

As a senior NKT teacher, Gen-la Jampa has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for many years, and under Geshe-la's guidance has taught at many centers and events around the world.

"It is sometimes very difficult to distinguish between our love and our attachment for others, but, when we are able to do so, we will see that it is invariably the attachment that is the cause of our suffering. Pure unconditional love never causes any pain or worry but only peace and joy." - Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche
