Meditations to heal our world
In an effort to make things better, where do we start? Often times, our world problems seem overwhelming and we turn away from others’ hardships. Ultimately, we want to protect others from pain. Buddha taught that this is true compassion—a mind wishing to free others from suffering. By engaging our mind in compassion, we have the energy and the opportunity to heal our world.
In this series, you will receive teachings on the true meaning of compassion and learn meditations to develop this powerful mind. By keeping this timeless advice in our hearts, we can be of most benefit to others and therefore our world.
“We could change our home or partner countless times, but until we change our restless, discontented mind we will never find real happiness.” —Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
What to Expect at Class
You do not need to be Buddhist to attend. Everyone welcome! No previous experience is necessary.
We provide both cushions and chairs to sit on. No special clothing required. Class consists of guided meditations, a teaching and a beautiful Buddhist prayer. After class, stay to chat with the teacher and other students.
Taught by Gen Kelsang Lhadron, Resident Teacher at KMC SD, Sunday morning and Wednesday evening meditation classes give us an opportunity to connect with our inner peace, our happiness. Each class is self-contained so drop in any time. No experience necessary.
